News > Funding available for new recruits

Posted on 04 January 2011

Jet Business has secured funding to help local businesses start the New Year with confidence.

It has been awarded funding through the Recruitment and Training Guarantee (RTG) Fund to support companies who would benefit from a work-ready member of staff.

The recruits, who have already been through 16 weeks of TEP (Transitional Employment Programme) training or a six-month Future Jobs Fund placement, are ready to be placed with local businesses.

In addition the RTG Fund gives the business a £95 per week subsidy towards the new recruit’s wages and training for the first five weeks.

Explained Kerry Parry of Jet Business: “The fund is the ideal opportunity for businesses to begin the New Year with extra staff and financial support.  These new recruits are experienced individuals who will be selected to meet your business needs and we will help with training too.

“We are keen to get these local people into work as quickly as possible, so once a business has applied to us it is a fast-track process of just three days to find the right person for your needs.”

Businesses must be based in Stoke-on-Trent to qualify for the support and funding.  In addition they must have fewer than 250 employees and must not have been awarded more than £200,000 of European Social Funding in the past year.   The placement must be completed by the end of March.

The closing date for applications is Friday February 18th 2011.  For more information call 01782 232996.
